advancing human-ai collaboration
for the dynamic learning environment
Our focus is to develop dynamic learning environments that leverage the complementary strengths of
humans and AI for meaningful learning and social good.
The work lies at the intersection of the learning sciences, human-computer interaction, AIED, and international development.
We envision a future in which students, teachers, and AI work together in newly-designed partnerships
to co-orchestrate, support personalized learning and augment human higher-order thinking.
Meanwhile, we anticipate constructive Human-AI team collaboration to discover and solve wicked problems to secure a more sustainable world.
As we work towards realizing this vision, we collaborate with teachers, students, and other stakeholders
to understand their unmet needs, preference, and boundaries.
In turn, we design, prototype, and pilot-test new technologies and instructions with them.
We investigate how new technologies and instruction affect educational processes and outcomes in real educational settings.
We cordially invite schools, students, and teachers who might be interested in jointly exploring
how to develop the power of AI for meaningful learning, create dynamic learning environments that support collaboration between humans and AI,
and harness their collaboration to address long-standing problems in learning, work, and the international community.
